Important Information About Qualifying Times
Some championship competitions require swimmers to achieve the relevant qualifying times before they can enter.
Swimmers who have not yet achieved the required times are encouraged to enter the recommended lead-up and qualifying meets listed below. These general competitions provide opportunities to achieve qualifying times before championship entries close.
Please check the qualifying requirements and entry closing dates carefully when planning your competitions.

A general Long Course meet where swimmers can compete and work towards achieving qualifying times for upcoming championship events.
D5 Spring Long Course Meet
Sunday 20 September 2026
A general Long Course meet providing swimmers with an opportunity to work towards qualifying times for upcoming championship events.
Nuna–Cheltenham Long Course Meet
Sunday 11 October 2026
A recommended opportunity for swimmers to compete and attempt to achieve qualifying times before upcoming championship competitions.
2026/27 Mattioli Melbourne Sprints
Saturday 24 October 2026
Qualifying times are required for this competition.
Swimmers who have not yet achieved the required times should participate in the recommended lead-up meets before entries close.

Metro East Junior District Selection Trials 2026
Saturday 31 October 2026
This meet forms the selection trials for the team representing the Metro East District at the Victorian Metro Junior District Competition, held at MSAC on Saturday 21 November 2026.
The top 10 swimmers in each event will qualify for selection and be entered as part of the Metro East team.
Swimmers who place in the top 10 may be selected for individual and/or relay events. Please enter these trials only if the swimmer is available and willing to compete at MSAC on Saturday 21 November 2026.
2026 Nuna Long Course Meet
Saturday 7 November 2026
A general Long Course meet and a recommended opportunity for swimmers to achieve qualifying times for upcoming championship events.
Surrey Park Long Course Meet
Sunday 8 November 2026
A general Long Course meet where swimmers can compete and attempt to achieve qualifying times for future championship events.
EDA Long Course Qualifying Meet
Sunday 15 November 2026
A recommended general qualifying meet for swimmers who still need to achieve the required times for upcoming championship competitions.
Victorian Metro Junior District Competition
Saturday 21 November 2026
This competition is for swimmers selected to represent the Metro East District through the selection trials held on 31 October 2026.
Victorian Qualifying Competition
Saturday 28 November 2026
Qualifying times apply to this competition.
Please check the qualifying requirements before entering. This competition may also provide an opportunity to achieve qualifying times for future championship events.
2026/27 Mattioli Victorian Age Long Course Championships
From Wednesday 9 December 2026
Qualifying times are required for this competition.
Swimmers who have not yet achieved the required times should participate in the recommended qualifying meets beforehand to give themselves an opportunity to qualify.
